What are National Parks and Reserves?

Kangaroo Animal Park, Israel

Often a National Park is a reserve of natural, semi-natural land that a sovereign state declares or owns. Although individual nations designate their own national parks differently, there is a common idea: the conservation of ‘wild nature’ for posterity and as a symbol of national pride. And Israel, such small country, has loads of National Parks and Reserves.

Ancient Katzrin Park

Each park represents a particular type of natural land (for example forests, deserts, mountains, valleys, lakes, swamps, flowers, etc.). We at Shalom Israel, can visit with our tours 26 different National Parks and Reserves in Israel, but there are more National Parks in Israel, which are not included in this type of tours.

In principle the whole family, but we would not advice children under the six. It’s possible, but the parents will be additionally stressed because the child is too young to show patience.
